Cooling a single medium-sized room during a heatwave, a little more quietly than most.

A well-built De'Longhi portable unit that runs slightly quieter than most on its silent setting and cools a medium room effectively. It is pricey and heavy, and like all single-hose portables it only works properly with the exhaust hose vented through a window.

Who shouldn't buy this
Skip it if you need genuine bedroom-quiet for sleeping or want to cool the whole home, since even on silent mode it is audible and one portable unit only cools the room it is in; for year-round use a fixed split system costs far less to run. And if you specifically want heating, buy the EL92 HP heat-pump version rather than this cooling-only Silent.
