De'Longhi Pinguino PAC EL92 Silent Portable Air Conditioner review
Cooling a single medium-sized room during a heatwave, a little more quietly than most.
By Tom Rowland · Updated 20 July 2026 · Price checked against our tracker
A well-built De'Longhi portable unit that runs slightly quieter than most on its silent setting and cools a medium room effectively. It is pricey and heavy, and like all single-hose portables it only works properly with the exhaust hose vented through a window.
Approximate, based on historic UK retailer listings (Appliances Direct, Aircon Direct, Costco UK) and Amazon UK; the model is now largely end-of-line so live stock and pricing vary, as of Jul 2026.

- Runs noticeably quieter than a typical portable AC on its silent setting
- Strong 10,000 BTU cooling with A+ efficiency and a useful dehumidify mode
- Sturdy build with castors and side handles for moving between rooms
- Heavy (around 33 kg) and expensive next to basic portable units
- Single-hose design and now largely end-of-line, so stock and value are patchy
