What it does
Alerts when it actually affects you
A power cut near you, an amber or red weather warning, a flood warning for your area. Within minutes of the official source, and only when something changes.
Your family's homes too
Watch a parent's address, a second home or a holiday let, and choose who gets told. Up to five addresses on the Family plan.
Kit sized to your home
Tell us what you have and we show what's missing. Own a power station? We'll tell you how long it would run your fridge in a cut.

The cheapest forecourts within 10 miles of your postcode, with the time each price was reported, from the national Fuel Finder scheme.

Questions
Is it free?+
Yes. Your own home's dashboard and email alerts will be free. A Family plan, with text alerts and up to five addresses, will be paid.
When does it open?+
We're building it now and opening it this winter, to the early list first. Everyone on the list gets an email the day it opens for their area.
What do you keep about me?+
Your email, your postcode and the answers you choose to give here. We use them to tell you when Home Alerts opens and to decide where to launch first. We never sell them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Is it an official warning service?+
No. PreparedBritain is independent and not affiliated with HM Government. Official warnings always come first: call 105 for a power cut, Floodline on 0345 988 1188 for flooding, and 999 in an emergency.
Which areas will it cover?+
All of Great Britain for weather warnings. Power cut alerts at launch cover the UK Power Networks, National Grid, SSEN and Northern Powergrid areas; Electricity North West and SP Energy Networks don't publish live data yet. Flood warnings start in England.
