The Met Office has no yellow, amber or red warnings active across the UK right now. We check the feed regularly and this page updates when that changes.
What the colours mean
Met Office warnings run yellow (be aware — some disruption possible), amber (be prepared — likely disruption and some risk to life) and red (take action — dangerous weather, significant risk to life). A warning combines how bad the weather could be with how likely it is. When one's in force, the Emergency Alerts system may also send a message to phones in the worst-affected areas.

Is there a weather warning for my area today?
This page shows every Met Office severe weather warning in force across the UK, read from the Met Office feed. For the exact area a warning covers, the Met Office warnings map lets you zoom to your town or postcode. If nothing is listed here, the Met Office has no yellow, amber or red warning in force anywhere in the UK.
What do yellow, amber and red warnings mean?
Yellow: be aware, some disruption is possible. Amber: be prepared, disruption is likely and there may be a risk to life. Red: take action, the weather is dangerous and there is a significant risk to life. Each warning combines how bad the weather could be with how likely it is.
Will a weather warning come to my phone?
Not usually. Met Office warnings are published on its website and app, and passed on by the media. The government's Emergency Alerts system sends a message to phones only where there is a danger to life nearby, such as the most severe weather.
When does the Met Office name a storm?
When a storm has the potential to cause an amber or red warning. Our storm names tracker lists this season's names and which have been used.
Does a wind warning mean power cuts?
