Meaco is a trusted UK climate-control brand and its MeacoCool portables cool a mid-sized room quickly and reliably, doubling as a dehumidifier. Like every single-hose unit it is noisy and power-hungry, so it earns its place only if you genuinely need cooling rather than just moving air about.

Who shouldn't buy this
You only need to take the edge off a few hot nights a year. A tower fan or evaporative cooler is far cheaper to buy and run, lighter to move, and needs no window venting; a portable AC is overkill unless you regularly face genuinely hot rooms.
