Deeper Chirp+ 2.0 Castable Sonar review
Feature-finding instead of fishing blind — the castable sonar that created the category.
By Tom Rowland · Updated 20 July 2026 · Price checked against our tracker
Cast it out, and gravel bars, drop-offs and weed lines draw themselves on your phone — Deeper invented the castable-sonar category and this is its current mainstream flagship. For finding features on a big or unfamiliar water it genuinely changes how you fish. Honesty about who it's for: it's a nice-to-have for anglers already catching, not something a beginner needs before their first fish, it needs your phone bankside, and its ~15-hour battery wants a power bank on multi-day sessions.

- Turns unknown water into a mapped swim in twenty minutes
- GPS bathymetric mapping saves your findings per venue
- 15-hour battery covers a full day's exploring
- A luxury for improvers, not a beginner's first purchase
- Needs a charged phone alongside it — two batteries to manage
