Its specification lists relay and OpenTherm connections, so it can modulate on boilers that offer it. The hard limit is the 1-channel HubR — this is Kit 1, combi boilers only, with no hot water control at all.

Worth knowing
- Combi boilers only — system and heat-only boilers, and S-plan or Y-plan setups, need the different Kit 2
- No hot water control whatsoever: the 1-channel HubR runs heating only
- The HubR wires in at the boiler or wiring centre, which is mains work — only the radiator valves are genuinely DIY
