By Tom Calder
We no longer recommend this model, so it no longer appears in our buying guides. In its place, we now recommend Google Nest Cam (Outdoor or Indoor, Battery), 2-Pack in our Security cameras guide.
Key specs
The maker's figures.
- Type
- Wire-free battery indoor/outdoor camera
- Resolution
- 1080p HD (HDR), 130° diagonal field of view
- Storage
- Cloud — 3hrs free history; 24/7 + 60-day needs Nest Aware
- Power
- 6000mAh rechargeable, magnetic mount; wired option available
Fits neatly into a Google Home set-up and the 6000mAh battery is among the largest capacities here, but only 3 hours of free event video history is included — continuous recording and a 60-day history both require a Nest Aware subscription. Its IP54 rating is also the lowest of the outdoor-capable cameras in this comparison, worth checking against your installation spot.
- Best for
- Existing Google Home households who value ecosystem integration over storage flexibility or a higher ingress-protection rating.
- Skip it if
- You're not already in the Google Home ecosystem

Who shouldn't buy this
Skip this if you're not already in the Google Home ecosystem — the Tapo C420S2 or Reolink RLC-810A give better storage value without tying you to a platform.
This is a Researched review: we haven't used this product. We check every specification against at least two independent sources, re-check the UK price on a schedule where we can track it automatically, and say plainly who it isn't for. Commissions never change a rating.
