Locàite Fall Alarm Watch for Elderly and Dementia (4G) review

A family happy to be the first responder — someone wants live GPS and automatic fall alerts sent straight to their own phone rather than a call centre.

Our verdict
3.7 / 5

A genuinely 4G device, so it isn't affected by the UK's 2G/3G switch-off, and the automatic fall alert plus GPS tracking are useful if a relative can realistically answer day or night. It's not a substitute for a monitored careline service, and the true running cost is the watch plus a mandatory £14.99/month SIM plan.

As an Amazon Associate, PreparedBritain earns from qualifying purchases. What we like
  • 4G connectivity that will keep working through the UK's 2G/3G network switch-off
  • GPS tracking with geofencing and a recent multi-day location timeline in the family app
  • Two-way voice calling limited to trusted contacts, cutting down nuisance and scam calls
Worth knowing
  • No 24/7 professional monitoring centre — alerts rely on family being reachable and able to respond
  • Easy to underestimate total cost: the watch needs an ongoing £14.99/month SIM plan (with per-minute/SMS overage charges)

Who shouldn't buy this

Skip this if no family member can reliably answer alerts around the clock — a monitored careline service (roughly £15-25/month, e.g. Careline365, Taking Care or your local authority's telecare team) is the safer fit there.
