Meaco DD8L Pro Dehumidifier review
Meaco DD8L Pro Desiccant Dehumidifier
By Tom Calder
We no longer recommend this model, so it no longer appears in our buying guides. In its place, we now recommend EcoAir DD1 Simple MK3 Desiccant Dehumidifier in our Dehumidifiers guide.
Key specs
The maker's figures.
- Type
- Desiccant, rated 1–35°C
- Extraction
- 7.97 L/day (20°C/60%) · 6.89 (10°C/60%)
- Tank
- 2 L
- Noise
- 40–50 dB (speed 1 to speed 3)
The strongest cold-weather performer here, and Meaco substantiates it with dual-condition data: 7.97 L/day at 20°C/60% and still 6.89 L/day at 10°C/60%, a loss of about 14% where compressor units fall away sharply. Rated down to 1°C with a three-year warranty. You pay for that — it is the dearest unit on this page — and at 50 dB on speed 3 it is not something to sleep near.
- Best for
- Unheated garages, workshops and caravans where a compressor unit gives up.
- Skip it if
- You're drying a heated living space

Researched, not used. We haven't used this product. This review is built from the maker's specifications, owner reports and our own sizing.
What we like
- Only about 14% output lost from 20°C to 10°C, on Meaco's own figures
- Rated down to 1°C — genuinely suited to an unheated space
- Three-year warranty
Worth knowing
- 50 dB on speed 3 is too loud for a bedroom; the quiet 40 dB setting costs output
- The most expensive unit here, with little discounting available
- Includes an ioniser, but Meaco publishes no test data or standard for its antibacterial claim

Who shouldn't buy this
Don't buy it if you're drying a heated living space — the quieter, cheaper Meaco Arete One 12L does that job better for the money.
This is a Researched review: we haven't used this product. We check every specification against at least two independent sources, re-check the UK price on a schedule where we can track it automatically, and say plainly who it isn't for. Commissions never change a rating.
