MeacoCool MC Series 10000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner review
Cooling a bedroom, home office or living room up to about 28m² through summer heat spikes.
By Tom Rowland · Updated 20 July 2026 · Price checked against our tracker
A well-made unit from a reputable UK air-treatment brand, with an A energy rating and genuinely useful venting kits in the box. It cools a medium room reliably, though like all portable ACs it needs a window to vent and costs noticeably more than a fan.
Approximate typical UK street price as of Jul 2026, from Meaco's own store (£459.99 for the base cooling-only MC10000) and third-party retailers/price comparison (c. £371-£400 for MC series units). Cooling-only base model; heating CH variant costs slightly more.

- A energy rating with modest running costs (around 1,110W, roughly 33p/hour at typical 2026 tariffs)
- Reputable UK brand (Meaco) with solid after-sales support and two window venting kits included
- Manageable noise for its class (53dB minimum), and casters make it easy to move room to room
- Single-hose design is less efficient than pricier dual-hose units and can draw warm air back in
- A real investment versus a tower fan or evaporative cooler, and it must vent through a window or door
