Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus review

Households already in the Ring or Alexa ecosystem who want a floodlight and a camera in a single mains-wired fitting.

Our verdict
3.8 / 5

Two thousand adjustable lumens, a 270° PIR zone and a 1080p camera with two-way talk and a 105dB siren, all in one fitting — a genuinely convenient package if you are already in the Ring ecosystem. Two caveats before you buy: Ring publishes no IP rating for this unit, describing it only as 'weather resistant' in its own wording, and the recording and video history that make the camera useful sit behind a Ring Home subscription. Note too that this is the 1080p model, not the 1536p Floodlight Cam Pro.

As an Amazon Associate, PreparedBritain earns from qualifying purchases. What we like
  • 2000 adjustable lumens plus a 1080p camera, two-way talk and a 105dB siren in one fitting
  • PIR detection across a 270° zone with customisable motion zones — wider than the camera's own 140° view
  • Ring quotes a −20°C to 50°C operating range on its own UK page, comfortably beyond British weather
Worth knowing
  • Ring publishes no IP rating — 'weather resistant' is its own marketing wording, not a rated standard
  • Recording and video history require a Ring Home subscription; the hardware alone gives you a live view
  • Hardwired mains only with no battery version of this model, so it needs existing AC power at the light position and an electrician to connect it

Who shouldn't buy this

Skip it if you only want deterrence rather than footage — the LAP Weyburn gives you two and a half times the light for a fraction of the price.

How this review works

Our rating is a considered spec-and-evidence verdict: we verify every specification against at least two independent sources, re-check the UK price on a schedule where we can track it automatically, and say plainly who a product isn't for.
