Champion 2000W Dual Fuel Inverter Generator review
Keeping a fridge, phones, laptops and a few lights running through a short power cut, or camping and caravan use.
By Tom Rowland · Updated 20 July 2026 · Price checked against our tracker
A genuinely quiet, lightweight 2kVA dual-fuel inverter that delivers clean power safe for sensitive electronics, with the flexibility to run on petrol or LPG. It is a capable little unit, but it has been discontinued in the UK, so availability, spares and warranty support are now the main things to weigh before buying.
Approximate, as of Jul 2026. Triangulated from UK retailers for the 82001i-E-DF model: Powerland (~£432, in-stock final stock), CamperNation (~£823, discontinued listing), with one clear outlier ignored. The model is now discontinued in the UK, so stock is thin and prices vary widely; ~£450 reflects a realistic street price for remaining new stock.

- Quiet in use (53 dB(A) at 7m) and light enough at around 20kg to carry and store easily
- Dual-fuel flexibility lets you run on petrol or LPG, handy if one fuel is hard to get in a shortage
- Pure sine wave output (<3% THD) is safe for laptops, phones and other sensitive electronics
- Now discontinued in the UK, so stock is patchy and long-term spares and warranty cover are uncertain
- At 1600W running it will not power high-draw appliances such as kettles, electric heaters or power tools
