A genuinely quick inflator-deflator with a digital gauge and auto shut-off, but it's a bare tool — the real price only makes sense once you count in a battery, which adds roughly £100-130 on top. Worth it if you already own DeWalt XR kit; harder to justify from a standing start.

What we like
- Inflates a car tyre in around 400 seconds via a digital gauge with auto shut-off to your chosen PSI — and deflates too, handy for correcting an over-full tyre or letting an airbed down
- Two power options — 18V DeWalt XR battery or the supplied 12V car-socket adaptor — cover a breakdown or a driveway top-up with one tool
- LED light and preset-PSI auto shut-off make it usable in the dark and hard to over-inflate by mistake
Worth knowing
- Body only — no battery or charger included, so budget roughly £100-130 more for a 5.0Ah XR battery and charger unless you already own compatible DeWalt XR kit
- Bulkier and heavier (about 2.5kg with battery fitted) than a simple 12V plug-in pump, so it's overkill just for occasional emergency-kit use
