BAGLHER Pet Travel Bag with Food Containers and Collapsible Bowls review

By Tom Calder

Our verdict · Researched
4.0 / 5

A pet go-bag is a sensible, low-cost piece of household resilience: a few days of food, water bowls, first aid, waste bags and copies of your pet's records kept in one grabbable bag by the door. Off-the-shelf kits save assembly time, but you will still need to add your own pet's food, any medication and up-to-date paperwork before it is genuinely ready.

What we like

  • Keeps your pet's food, bowls and essentials together in one bag, so nothing is forgotten in a rush.
  • Inexpensive, and easy to fill using the PDSA's free checklist.
  • Collapsible bowls and two food containers come with it, and it stores by the front door.

Worth knowing

  • Pre-made kits rarely include your specific pet's food or medication, so they are never complete straight out of the box.
  • It's a bag, bowls and food containers only: first aid, waste bags, a spare lead and copies of your pet's records are yours to add.

Our review

The BAGLHER pet travel bag is a holdall with two lidded food containers and two collapsible silicone bowls, sold as a dog travel bag and usable as the shell of a pet go-bag. It is a sensible, cheap base. What makes it emergency kit is what you add from the PDSA's checklist: food, water, lead, medication and paperwork.

What it is

The bag itself is a soft holdall with a shoulder strap, a main compartment sized for a few days of dry food in its two lidded containers, side pockets for the two silicone bowls that fold flat, and smaller pockets for a lead, bags and papers. Reseller listings give dimensions of roughly 33 by 20 by 40cm and a food capacity of a dozen or so cups across the containers, but the maker publishes no page of its own, so treat those as approximate. The containers are the useful part: dry food in its own sack goes stale and spills, and lidded tubs keep a few days' worth measured and sealed.

What goes in it

The PDSA's list for an emergency pet bag is the one to pack to: a blanket, a couple of small collapsible bowls, a few days of food, sealed bottled water, a toy or two, a first aid kit, your contact details and your vet's, microchip information, any medication with written instructions on when to give it, and the feeding routine. For cats, a small litter tray, litter and scoop; for dogs, a spare lead, plenty of poo bags and a spare collar and tags. Keep the carrier or harness by the door, not in the bag. The PDSA's flood advice goes further: a week's food, proof of vaccinations, microchip and insurance papers in a sealed waterproof bag, and a photo of your pet in case you are separated. The government's Be Ready guidance on water cuts adds planning extra water for pets.

Why bother

Evacuations in Britain are mostly floods, gas leaks and fires, and they come with minutes of notice. A pet whose food, lead and papers are already in one bag by the door leaves with you; one whose things are scattered through the kitchen does not. Rest centres and friends' houses will take an animal with its own food and bowls far more readily. Our pet owners' Be Ready checklist guide walks through the official list, and the flood checklist covers moving pets upstairs or out early.

How it compares

On the pet emergency kits page the collapsible bowls pair and the pet first aid kit are the two items that go inside this bag or any other. The soft-sided carrier is the piece a cat or small dog owner needs by the door, and it is not a bag you fill. The reflective collar and lead set is for dark walks when the streetlights are out. The travel bag is the shell that keeps the rest together.

Our verdict

Buy it if you want a ready-made shell with food tubs and bowls, and you will spend ten minutes filling it from the PDSA list and a minute each season rotating the food. Skip it if you already own a spare holdall: two tubs, two folding bowls and the checklist make the same kit for less, and any bag by the door beats a good one that never gets packed. Either way, the records, medication and water are yours to add, and the kit is not ready until they are in.

A researched review, built from the maker's specs, manual and UK listings; facts checked 2 Nov 2026. Sources: PDSA: what to put in an emergency pet bag; PDSA: flood safety for pets; GOV.UK Be Ready: water supply interruptions (plan extra water for pets).

Who shouldn't buy this

You are happy to spend ten minutes assembling one yourself. A homemade bag built from a spare lead, collapsible bowls and copies of your pet's records will match most paid kits for less, following the PDSA's free checklist.

Questions

What should be in a pet emergency bag?

The PDSA lists a blanket, collapsible bowls, a few days of food, sealed water, a toy, a first aid kit, your and your vet's details, microchip information, medication with instructions, and the feeding routine, plus litter kit for cats and a spare lead and bags for dogs.

How much pet food should I pack?

The PDSA's general advice is a few days; its flood advice says a week. Pack what the containers hold, and rotate it each season so it stays in date.

Does the BAGLHER bag come with anything else?

Two lidded food containers and two collapsible silicone bowls. You supply the lead, first aid kit, waste bags, water and the paperwork for your pet.

Where should the pet bag live?

By the door with the carrier or harness beside it, as the PDSA advises, so it leaves the house with you.
