UGREEN Nexode 45W 20K review
UGREEN Nexode 20000mAh 45W Power Bank (Built-in Cable)
By Tom Calder
A 20,000mAh bank from an established charger brand that carries its own attached USB-C lead, plus a second USB-C socket and a USB-A socket. Peak 45W is enough for phones, tablets and many lighter laptops over USB-C PD. It gives a non-Anker choice on a page where most picks are Anker, but the maker states that output drops sharply when more than one port is in use.

What we like
- 20,000mAh stated cell capacity, enough for several phone charges
- Attached lead plus USB-C and USB-A sockets, so three devices can be connected
- UGREEN UK states a two-year warranty
- Up to 45W on a single USB-C output for tablets and lighter laptops
Worth knowing
- UGREEN states total output is 15W when two or three ports are used together, so fast charging is a one-device feature
- Heavier and bulkier than the 10,000mAh banks on this page

Our review
This 20,000mAh UGREEN Nexode carries its own USB-C lead, so the cable cannot be left behind, with a second USB-C port and a USB-A socket beside it. Its 45W peak charges phones and tablets quickly and will run a light laptop, but UGREEN's own figures show it is a one-device-at-a-time bank.
What it is
The attached USB-C cable works for charging devices and for refilling the bank itself. Beside it sit a USB-C port and a USB-A port. UGREEN rates the cable and the USB-C port at 45W each using Power Delivery and PPS, the standard that lets recent Android phones charge at their fastest, and the USB-A port at 22.5W. UGREEN notes that some non-standard Android phones may be limited to 22.5W. Capacity is 20,000mAh; UGREEN's UK page does not state a watt-hour figure, which at the usual 3.7V cell rating works out at about 74Wh, by our arithmetic.
The catch: one device at a time
UGREEN's UK page is clear that with two or three ports in use at once the total output falls to 15W, shared between them. That is enough to trickle two phones overnight but not to fast-charge anything, and it is the figure that matters most if several people in the house will be queuing for the same bank. If you want to fill two devices quickly, do them in turn. Plenty of banks in this class share power more generously, so this is the main point to weigh against the convenience of the built-in lead.
Recharging and storage
Using a 45W USB-C adaptor through the attached cable, UGREEN gives about four hours to refill. The bank is a good deal heavier than a 10,000mAh pocket bank, and its three-port layout suits a kitchen drawer or a grab bag more than a coat pocket. Charge it every few months in storage and before a storm warning, and keep it away from heat; our lithium battery fire safety guide sets out the habits that matter.
Where it fits in a power cut
Twenty thousand milliamp-hours is several full charges for a typical phone, so one bank covers a household's phones through a day or two of outage if it is charged in turn. The 45W port will keep a tablet or a small laptop going for a while, though not a large one. It will also run a USB-C radio or lantern. For the bigger picture of what to have ready, see our power cut preparation guide.
How it compares
On the power banks page the Iniu B5 is the value pick at the same capacity, and the Anker 20K 87W also has a built-in cable with more output for a laptop. If a laptop is the main job, step up to the UGREEN 25,000mAh 140W. For a bank that fits a pocket, a 10,000mAh model such as the Anker Nano is lighter and cheaper.
Our verdict
A sensible, well-made bank from an established charger brand, with the attached lead as its selling point and a two-year warranty stated on UGREEN's UK site. Skip it if you need to fast-charge two devices at once, since the shared output drops to 15W, or if you want something pocket-sized.

Who shouldn't buy this
You regularly charge a heavier laptop (the Anker 737 or Anker Prime 300W fit better) or want something pocket-slim (a 10,000mAh bank fits better).

Can the UGREEN 20,000mAh bank charge two devices at once?
It can, but UGREEN states that the total output drops to 15W when two or three ports are in use. For fast charging, connect one device at a time.
Will it charge a laptop?
A light USB-C laptop that accepts 45W Power Delivery, yes. Larger laptops need more than 45W and are better served by the 140W UGREEN or an Anker Prime bank.
How long does the UGREEN Nexode 20,000mAh take to recharge?
About four hours from a 45W USB-C adaptor through the built-in cable, according to UGREEN.
