Winix Zero Air Purifier review
By Tom Calder
We no longer recommend this model, so it no longer appears in our buying guides. In its place, we now recommend Winix Zero-S Air Purifier in our Air purifiers guide.
Key specs
The maker's figures.
- Room size
- 99 m²
- CADR
- 390 m³/h
- Filter
- 4-stage: pre-filter, H13 HEPA, activated carbon and PlasmaWave technology
- Noise (min)
- 40.8 dB
Strong on paper — 99 m² coverage and 390 m³/h CADR rival the Philips at a lower price — but independent noise measurements ran well above Winix's own figures, and the exact live price needs checking as estimates varied widely across retailers this round. Capable, but the noisiest real-world performer among the large-room options.
- Best for
- A large room needing strong CADR and H13-grade HEPA at a mid-range price, for buyers who'll tolerate it running louder than the spec sheet suggests
- Skip it if
- A quiet bedroom unit is the priority

Researched, not used. We haven't used this product. This review is built from the maker's specifications, owner reports and our own sizing.
What we like
- High published CADR at 390 m³/h, close to the Philips' 380 m³/h
- H13-grade HEPA plus a 4-stage filtration stack including PlasmaWave
- Large 99 m² room coverage for a mid-range price
Worth knowing
- Independent noise measurements ran significantly louder than Winix's own published figures — expect it to be noticeable on higher settings
- Listings mix up variants, so check the exact model name before ordering
- PlasmaWave ionisation technology is a filtration-adjacent feature some buyers prefer to avoid — check you're comfortable with it before buying

Who shouldn't buy this
Don't buy it if a quiet bedroom unit is the priority — the Levoit Core 300S's 22 dB sleep mode is a better-documented quiet option.
This is a Researched review: we haven't used this product. We check every specification against at least two independent sources, re-check the UK price on a schedule where we can track it automatically, and say plainly who it isn't for. Commissions never change a rating.
