NOCO Boost+Air AX65: 2000A Jump Starter with Air Compressor Tyre Inflator – Starts 8.0L Gas & 6.0L Diesel

A well-built two-in-one from a brand with a strong safety record — reverse-polarity protection and spark-proof clamps are exactly what you want in something this powerful. Treat the 6.0L diesel figure as NOCO's best-case ceiling rather than a guarantee: with a 31.8Wh pack also running the compressor, a cold-weather start on a large diesel near that limit will be marginal, with fewer retries than on a smaller engine. As with any lithium pack, keep it somewhere temperate rather than left in a hot car through summer.

Our review
Two roadside tools in one case: a 2,000A NOCO jump starter rated for 8.0L petrol and 6.0L diesel, and a 280W compressor that NOCO says takes a 205/65 R16 tyre from flat to 40 psi in two minutes. The catch is the 31.8Wh battery, small for a pack this capable. It suits a driver who wants one unit for both jobs and does not already own an inflator.
What it is
The AX65 puts a NOCO jump starter and a proper compressor in one metal case. The jump side is rated at 2,000A peak for petrol engines to 8.0L and diesels to 6.0L; NOCO gives no sustained cranking figure, so the litre ratings are the guide. The air side is a 280W motor drawing 22A, rated to 100 psi, moving 67 litres a minute, for tyres up to 35 inches, with a 0.91m braided hose and adapters for Presta valves, balls and inflatables. Set a pressure, start, and NOCO's dwell system pauses, measures and shuts off at the target. The internal battery is 31.8Wh, and NOCO's own datasheet says not to run the two functions at the same time.
On the road
NOCO's figures for a 205/65 R16 tyre, a common family-car size, are 0 to 40 psi in 2.0 minutes and a top-up from 35 to 40 psi in 22 seconds. NOCO's user guide asks for a 55-minute rest after five minutes in manual mode, and 53 minutes after seven minutes of running at 30 psi, so it suits topping up four tyres rather than long jobs. The 100-lumen torch has brightness and emergency modes, and the unit is 215.6 by 138.9 by 99.6mm and 3.15kg, a boot item. NOCO rates operation and storage from -20°C to +50°C, says it can be kept indoors or in the vehicle, and recommends 25°C for the longest battery life; a car parked in summer sun can pass the upper limit. How it compares
Bought separately, a NOCO Boost GB70 gives the same 8.0L and 6.0L ratings from a 56Wh battery at 1.9kg, and a Ring RAC610 inflator runs from the car's 12V socket and takes a flat tyre to 35 psi in under 4.5 minutes by Ring's figure. The Nebo Ultimate is the other combination unit: a 600A-sustained starter rated for 6.0L petrol and 3.0L diesel with a 130 psi compressor and a floodlight, at 1.15kg. Living with it
The battery charges and discharges through USB-C Power Delivery at up to 60W, so a laptop charger refills it and it can charge a laptop back. NOCO's user guide gives 0.8 hours to recharge from a 60W charger, 4 hours at 10W and 8 hours at 5W; with 31.8Wh inside it is far less of a power bank than the GBX75's 74Wh. A 24-inch USB-C cable comes in the box with the clamps, the adapters and a microfibre bag; there is no mains charger. The shell is IP55 with the ports closed, a step below the IP65 of NOCO's plain Boost packs. NOCO lists a one-year warranty, and its terms say UK buyers may get a minimum of two years.
Safety
Spark-proof clamps and reverse-polarity protection cover the starting side; over-current and over-temperature protection cover the compressor, which NOCO rates at 80% motor efficiency. NOCO's guide warns that an unused unit discharges over time, so keep it charged and check it every few months; our lithium battery fire safety guide covers the household basics. A tyre that needs air every week has a puncture, and a battery that goes flat twice needs a garage or a maintenance charger.
Our verdict
Buy the AX65 if you want one boot box that starts the car and sorts a soft tyre, you drive something up to a large petrol or a mid-size diesel, and you do not already own an inflator. Skip it if you have an inflator, if boot space is tight, or if the power bank matters to you, where the GBX75 carries more than twice the battery at just over half the weight.

Who shouldn't buy this
Skip it if you already own a separate tyre inflator — you'd be paying the air-compressor premium twice. NOCO's plain Boost packs (e.g. GB40, GB70) cover similar engine sizes for less if you only need the jump-start function.

Can the NOCO AX65 jump start and inflate at the same time?
No. NOCO's datasheet says not to use both features simultaneously. Start the car first, then deal with the tyre.
