EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 review
EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 Portable Power Station
By Tom Calder
The DELTA Pro 3 is the top of EcoFlow's portable range: 4,096Wh, 4,000W output rising to 6,000W with X-Boost, 2,600W of solar input and expansion to 12kWh. EcoFlow rates the LiFePO4 pack at 4,000 cycles to 80%. It is a wheeled suitcase-style unit, 51.5kg without extra batteries, built for people who want to run a fridge, freezer and kitchen appliances together. Next to the DELTA 3 Max Plus it offers twice the capacity and a third more output at more than twice the weight; most households will be well served by the smaller unit.
- Best for
- Several days of whole-home essentials and heavy kitchen appliances at once, if you can handle a wheeled 51.5kg unit.
- Skip it if
- You only need a fridge, router and phones covered

What we like
- 4,096Wh and 4,000W, enough to cover several appliances at once
- Up to 2,600W of solar input and expansion to 12kWh
- Wheels and a pull handle, and a rated 4,000 cycles to 80%
Worth knowing
- 51.5kg is not a unit to lift; plan where it lives and where it is used
- Costs more than twice as much as the 2kWh units, which suit most single-fridge needs
- One long-term reviewer had the unit cut its output twice with a fault warning that a full power cycle cleared, so keep the reset steps to hand

Our review
EcoFlow's largest wheeled power station: a 4.1kWh lithium iron phosphate battery behind four UK sockets and a 16A blue commando outlet, with 4,000W on tap. The number that decides it is 51.5kg. This is a home battery on castors rather than something you carry to a campsite, and it suits a household that wants the fridge-freezer, router and lights covered for a day or more while still boiling a kettle.
What the numbers mean
4,096Wh is 4.1 units of electricity, of which about 3,100Wh reaches the sockets by our planning method (90% depth of discharge, 85% inverter efficiency). 4,000W continuous means any single appliance on a UK 13A plug runs normally, the 8,000W peak absorbs compressor start-ups, and X-Boost lets simple heating loads up to 6,000W run at reduced voltage; EcoFlow's manual says that suits blankets and water heaters, not voltage-sensitive electronics. EcoFlow rates the LFP cells at 4,000 cycles to 80%, a full cycle a day for roughly eleven years.
In a UK power cut
Run through our runtime method over the appliance-draw dataset, a fridge-freezer lasts 2 to 5 days, a broadband router 5 to 7 days, a CPAP on blower alone 4 to 9 days (38 to 101 hours with a heated humidifier), a laptop 39 to 78 hours, a television 14 to 73 hours and a gas combi boiler's pump and controls 24 to 70 hours. Fridge-freezer, router, four LED bulbs and a charging phone together give 19 to 56 hours; with the combi boiler, 11 to 35 hours. Boilers are hard-wired, so that needs an electrician's changeover first.
A 3kW kettle sits comfortably inside 4,000W, but each minute it runs takes about 50Wh, roughly 1.6% of the usable battery, so a boil is affordable and a kettle habit is not. For fridges, EcoFlow's manual says to set the AC timeout to Never in the app, or the outlet can switch off after sitting idle for a set time. EcoFlow also says the unit is not designed for life-support equipment; see running medical equipment in a power cut.
How it compares
The DELTA 3 Max Plus has half the capacity at 2,048Wh, 3,000W of output, weighs 22.1kg and grows to 10kWh with extra batteries. The BLUETTI Elite 400 is the closest single box at 3,840Wh and 2,600W, 39kg on wheels, with no expansion and a 3,000-cycle rating. The BLUETTI Apex 300 starts smaller at 2,764.8Wh but gives 3,840W, weighs 38kg and expands to 19.35kWh, with mains sockets only. More on home backup power.
Living with it
From the mains EcoFlow quotes 0 to 80% in about an hour; from solar, up to 2,600W of panels reach 80% in 1.5 hours. Charging from empty costs about £1.08 per full charge at Ofgem's October to December 2026 cap rate of 26.32p per kWh, before losses. It measures 693 by 341 by 410mm and rolls on wheels with a telescopic handle; plan a route without stairs. EcoFlow claims 30dB at 2,000W of output. Ports beyond the sockets are two 100W USB-C, two USB-A and 378W of 12V. The app uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the UK warranty is five years and needs no registration, and uk.ecoflow.com orders can be returned within 30 days, with return postage and any transaction fee paid by the buyer.
Safety
No engine, no exhaust, so it can sit in a hallway where a generator never could; see power station vs generator. The main unit is IP20 (only the sealed battery pack inside is IP65), so EcoFlow says indoors or under shelter. The manual says to store it between -10°C and 45°C, ideally about 0°C to 30°C, in a dry, well-ventilated spot, to keep the heat vents clear, and in long storage to charge it fully and then run it down to 60% once every three months; leaving it uncharged or unused for more than six months voids the warranty. If it ever catches fire the manual lists water or water mist, sand, a fire blanket, dry powder and finally CO2 extinguishers, in that order. Our lithium battery fire safety guide has the household basics. EcoFlow also says never to connect it to a building's wiring without a properly installed transfer switch, which is an electrician's job.
Our verdict
Buy it if you want more than a day of cover for the essentials with power to spare for kitchen appliances, intend to add solar or a second battery, and have a ground-floor spot where 52kg can live permanently. Skip it if your realistic worry is a few hours without the fridge and router: a 1kWh unit does that at a quarter of the weight. If you would move the battery between house and van, the 26kg Elite 300 is the honest choice. Our sizing guide shows which group you are in.

Who shouldn't buy this
You only need a fridge, router and phones covered: a 1kWh unit does that for a fraction of the cost and weight. Whole-house backup that needs to switch automatically also needs an electrician and a proper changeover, not just this unit.

Questions
Can the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 run a fridge-freezer?
Yes. By the site's runtime method a fridge-freezer averaging 12 to 51W runs for 2 to 5 days on the 4,096Wh battery. Set the AC timeout to Never in the EcoFlow app so the outlet does not switch off between compressor cycles.
How loud is the DELTA Pro 3?
EcoFlow quotes 30dB at 2,000W of output, which it compares to a running fridge. It publishes no figure for the fans during a fast charge.
How long does the DELTA Pro 3 take to charge?
EcoFlow says 0 to 80% in about an hour from a wall socket, with the AC input rated at up to 2,900W, and 80% in about 1.5 hours from 2,600W of solar.
Can I add batteries to the DELTA Pro 3 later?
Yes. EcoFlow's DELTA Pro 3 Smart Extra Battery connects through the extra battery port, and EcoFlow says the system grows from 4kWh to 12kWh.
