EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus Portable Power Station

This is the DELTA 3 Classic with the door left open. Same 1,024Wh LiFePO4 pack, which EcoFlow rates at 4,000 cycles to 80% (it quotes the Classic only as a 10-year life), same 1,800W output, but with an extra-battery port that takes it to 5kWh, dual solar inputs up to 1,000W, 140W USB-C ports and a 56-minute mains recharge. For a home that wants to start with one unit and grow into whole-fridge, whole-day backup, it is the better buy than the Classic; for a home that will never expand, the Classic does the same job for less. EcoFlow's UK store listed it as available to order rather than in stock when we checked; Amazon had it in stock at the same price.

Worth knowing

- Kettles and heaters only through X-Boost: 1,800W is the rated output, and EcoFlow says X-Boost runs heating appliances such as kettles (it names 1,200-3,000W) at reduced power, so expect a slow boil rather than a normal one

Our review
EcoFlow's expandable 1kWh unit: a 1,024Wh LFP battery, 1,800W from four mains sockets, and a rear port that accepts an extra battery, up to 5kWh in all. What matters most is that growth path, since the cheaper Classic shares the battery and inverter but ends at 1,024Wh. It suits a household that wants the fridge-freezer and broadband covered now and may add capacity or solar later.
What the numbers mean
1,024Wh is about one unit of electricity, of which roughly 780Wh reaches the sockets by the site's planning method (90% depth of discharge, 85% inverter efficiency, 10W self-consumption). 1,800W continuous covers most plug-in appliances apart from kettles and heaters; the 3,600W surge handles compressor starts, and X-Boost lets heating loads up to 2,400W run at reduced voltage. The manual says X-Boost is for heating loads, not voltage-sensitive electronics, and is unavailable on mains. The cells are rated at 80% capacity after 4,000 cycles, a daily cycle for roughly eleven years.
In a UK power cut
By our runtime method over the appliance-draw dataset, a fridge-freezer lasts 13 to 36 hours, a router 33 to 42 hours, a CPAP on blower alone 26 to 56 hours (9.5 to 25 hours with a heated humidifier), a laptop 10 to 20 hours, a television 3.5 to 18 hours and a gas combi boiler's electrics 6 to 17 hours. Fridge-freezer, router, four LED bulbs and a charging phone together give 4.5 to 14 hours; with the combi boiler, 2.5 to 8.5 hours. Boilers are hard-wired, so that needs an electrician's changeover first.
The UPS transfers in 10ms, which EcoFlow says suits a NAS, and a USB-C data cable lets a PC or NAS read the unit's status and UPS settings. For a fridge, set the AC timeout to never in the app, or the socket can switch off after an idle spell. A 2.2kW kettle needs X-Boost and runs slowly; a 3kW one is beyond it.
How it compares
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic is the same battery and inverter 400g lighter, with two sockets instead of four, 500W of solar instead of 1,000W, no 12V outputs and no way to add a battery. The BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 matches the 1,024Wh and 1,800W at 11.5kg with 1,000W of solar and a 12V socket, and no stacking either. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 1500 starts bigger at 1,536Wh and 16.5kg and expands to 5.5kWh. The brand's range is on EcoFlow power stations.
Living with it
The AC input takes up to 1,500W and EcoFlow quotes 0 to 100% in 56 minutes; the app can slow it. A full charge from empty costs about 27p at the Ofgem price cap rate of 26.32p per kWh for October to December 2026, before losses. Solar is 11 to 60V at up to 500W per input and 1,000W in total, which EcoFlow says fills it in 70 minutes; a car socket gives 12V at 8A. The box holds the unit and an AC cable, no solar or car lead. It measures about 398 by 202 by 284mm and weighs 12.5kg. Ports are four mains sockets, two 140W USB-C, two 36W USB-A, a 12V car socket and two DC5521 barrels, the 12V outputs sharing 126W, plus the XT150 extra-battery port. EcoFlow's UK spec table gives under 30dB at 600W. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a storm warning mode that pre-charges on a weather alert, and five years' warranty on EcoFlow UK's policy table. Returns from uk.ecoflow.com run 30 days from delivery, with carriage and a card fee on the buyer.
Safety
The manual allows charging from 0°C to 45°C, and discharge and storage from -10°C to 45°C, with 20°C to 30°C ideal. Charge and discharge it every three months; EcoFlow says the warranty does not cover a unit left unused for six months. Only the battery pack is IP65, so the unit stays indoors and dry, and EcoFlow says it is not for life-sustaining medical kit; our medical equipment guide covers CPAP and oxygen. Our verdict
This is the 1kWh unit to buy when you are not sure 1kWh is where you will stop: start with the fridge and router, add a battery or panels when a long cut makes the case. If expansion is off the table for good, the Classic covers the same evening for less, and if a fridge is not on your list a big power bank covers phones and the router. Who shouldn't buy this
You know you'll never add a battery or solar panels — the DELTA 3 Classic is the same power station without the ports you won't use. And if a fridge isn't on your list, a 300Wh unit or a big power bank covers phones, lights and the router for a fraction of the price.

Can the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus run a fridge-freezer?
Yes. A fridge-freezer averaging 12 to 51W runs 13 to 36 hours on 1,024Wh by the site's runtime method; EcoFlow's UK page says 7 to 14 hours for a fridge. Set the AC timeout to never in the app so the socket does not shut off between compressor cycles.
How long does the DELTA 3 Plus take to charge?
EcoFlow quotes 0 to 100% in 56 minutes from the mains at its 1,500W maximum input. EcoFlow gives 70 minutes from the full 1,000W of solar. A car socket supplies 12V at 8A, under 100W, so allow more than ten hours from one.
What extra batteries work with the DELTA 3 Plus?
EcoFlow lists the DELTA 3, DELTA Pro 3, DELTA 2 and DELTA 2 Max smart extra batteries, connected through the XT150 port, for up to 5kWh in total.
How loud is the DELTA 3 Plus?
EcoFlow's UK spec table gives under 30dB at 600W and under 40dB at 1,200W. If fan noise at night matters, the charging speed can be lowered in the app.
